Do you supply new or used Camper Vans?

At Factory Campers we can do both new and used Camper Vans. We always have a healthy stock of used vans that have new conversions within them, and we also have the ability to use our contacts at VW to order a new van for you, if you don’t mind the wait.

Can I choose my own cabinets / furniture etc?

Our stock vans have already been converted tastefully and are ready to drive away, so in those instances you are limited to small changes such as heaters / awning rails / different wheels etc. We carry a good stock of used donor vehicles for you to put your own unique stamp on, and in those instances you can create your own conversion from scratch and go as basic or as extravagant as you want to! We can also buy used donor vehicles to order by using our contacts around the UK.

For the really bespoke experience we can order you a new van from VW to your exact spec (this is handy as you can get your first choice colour along with any other useful factory options such as Air Conditioning, Tailgate etc). We then get the vehicle converted exactly as you want with your choice of cabinets / floor / wheels etc.

Do I have to visit you to buy a vehicle from you?

Not at all. Whilst people who are in driving distance tend to want to visit, there is no obligation to do so if you want to order a vehicle. Our stock vans that are already built can be bought remotely with confidence (we can deliver anywhere in the UK), and donor vans / new vans can be specced up as you like, and then ordered.

What sort of deposit amount do I have to pay?

Stock vans – £1,000 reserves a vehicle and takes it off sale, with the balance payable before handover. Donor vans – the underlying price of the unconverted van reserves a donor van with the balance payable before handover.
Converting your van – £1,000 deposit with the balance due before handover.

If any of the above vehicles are being taken on one of our finance packages, a deposit is taken to match the amount of the deposit on the finance document.

Do I have to pay a deposit to secure a van if it is going onto one of your finance options?

Yes, in all cases we would require the equivalent amount to your finance deposit when your vehicle is ordered – this applies to stock vans, donor vans being converted and new vans. For example if your van was £33,995 and your deposit was 10%, we’d require £3,399.50 from you, with the balance then paid to us by the finance company.

Can you arrange delivery to me?

Of course we can. We do like to give you a proper handover though, to explain the various parts of the conversion (how to unlock the water filler cap / how to unfold the bed etc) however we appreciate that it is not always possible for customers to collect. We use several vehicle delivery companies who operate on a nationwide basis to help us deliver vehicles to all corner of the UK. A typical charge would be £300 to London, £200 to Newcastle etc – please ask us for more specific details

Is my conversion under warranty?

Yes, the conversion element is covered by a comprehensive 12 month warranty. Warranty work is performed at CamperKing Ltd in Kineton, Warwickshire. The underlying van element is covered by the VW warranty and will cover you for items such as engine issues etc, whilst the vehicle is still within it’s warranty period.

Who are the conversions done by?

Our conversions are done by CamperKing Ltd in Warwickshire

Do you provide a fitted gas bottle?

We are not licensed to store gas on the premises. However your van will come with a fitted hose and regulator so all that you need to do is to go to a hardware or camping shop and buy a bottle.

Will my van come with an electrical hook up socket?

Yes – all of our conversions come with an electric socket on the exterior of the van so that you can hook up to the mains at a campsite. When you are ‘off-grid’ the powerful leisure battery keeps your fridge on the go! For those that spend a lot of time staying away but not at campsites, there are solar power upgrades available via a flat panel that is fitted to the roof.

How long do the conversions take?

Stock vehicles are already converted and are ready to go. Donor vans that are ripe for conversion take around 4-5 weeks. New factory order vans take about 12 weeks plus 4-5 weeks to convert, however we also pre-order new vans for conversion so we may be able to jump the queue for you!
